The new DNW-A25WSP is a Betacam SX VTR with full editing capabilities. Also included is Betacam and Betacam SP playback capability and a new feature which allows both 4:3 and 16:9 video display on the built-in screen.
Compact and lightweight.
Has carrying handle and shoulder strap. Weight is 6.5kg.
Battery powered using BP-L camcorder batteries. AC power option.
Battery shoe connection is included for BP-L batteries; the same batteries used for Betacam camcorders maximising efficiency of battery usage in the field. An optional AC power unit (AC-DN2B) is available.
625 / 50 and 525 / 60 flexibility.
The DNW-A25WSP can be easily switched between 625/50 and 525/60 digital recording and digital playback modes.

Portable, compact VTR with LCD monitor
The DNW-A25WSP can easily be hand carried and be powered from camcorder batteries making it ideal as a field VTR for editing, viewing, uplinking, etc.
Use tapes from existing analogue Betacam camcorders
You don’t need Betacam SX camcorders to benefit from the DNW-A25WSP. Analogue Betacam tapes can also be replayed.
High digital video and audio quality
Recordings are made to the high quality, digital Betacam SX format. This is of 8 bit quantisation and full 4:2:2 component standard for digital video and 16bit / 48KHz sampling for digital audio.
Pre-read edit facility - a player and recorder in one VTR
The DNW-A25WSP has a pre-read facility. Video and audio can be played back, processed and then re-recorded on the one VTR. Ideal for video processing, chromakeying, audio sweetening, etc.
Fast operation using Good Shot marker system
The DNW-A25WSP supports the Good shot marker system which enables fast searching and compilation of all good shots on a Betacam SX tape.
Use in international environments
The DNW-A25WSP can record and playback in both 625/50 and 525/60 modes.
Audio matrixing and mixing facilities
Input audio can be matrixed and mixed in combination to the four digital audio recording channels.
Unattended, continuous recording
Two DNW-A25WSPs can act together to continuously record an incoming feed. When one VTR nears the end of tape it automatically instructs the other to start recording.
4:3/16:9 switchable LCD monitor
The newly added ability to switch the LCD monitor to either 4:3 or 16:9 operation is ideal for users shooting multi aspect ratio material. This feature can also be added to existing DNW-A25P and DNW-A220P portable editors using the optional BKNW-26 upgrade kit.
